I guess it was announced late Friday, but I didn’t realize until I opened my email this morning that former president Bill Clinton was going to be speaking today on campus. So I headed over and listened to his speech, in support of Hillary’s bid for the presidency. I’ve seen Bill speak before (once back on the U of A campus), so I expected it would be good, and it was.
UPDATE: I hope to find a transcript. Forbes has some details, but doesn’t convey the feel of the event very well.
UPDATE 2: What coverage there is greatly oversimplifies the speech. The AP has latched onto Bill’s comment about the other Democratic candidates “ganging up” on Hillary. That was a fairly off-hand quip at the beginning. Most of the speech was focussed on issues, including jobs, health care, climate change, etc. But it looks like the reporters zoned out after the opening gambit.
