Public schools not so bad after all…

I’m a product of public schools and public a public university, so I was happy to hear yesterday of a recent study, commissioned by the Department of Education‘s National Center for Education Statistics, no less, and conducted by ETS–the folks who brought you the SAT, GRE, and every other standardized test you can think of–found that there’s not much difference in the quality of education you’ll receive at either. Private schools are not the slam dunk they, and the voucher-happy current administration, make them out to be. Reg Weaver, president of the NEA, had this to say about it. I’ll link up the study itself if I can find it online (no luck so far).
