The recent changeover to the latest version of the blogging system we use/develop around here was not without its (minor, mostly solved) issues. Well, it’s time to stir the pot again. I’m switching hosts. For a few years now, I’ve been using unitedhosting.co.uk. They’ve been a pretty good host, though they’ve had some growing pains as they have become a bigger player in the hosting game. But the biggest issue is I need more space, but I don’t want to pay any more money for it. As it turns out, I can do that by switching to mediatemple.net. They have a sale going on right now, BTW. It ends today, in fact. So if you also need more space, you might check them out.
After I move everything over I’ll have 2GB instead of 200MB. This means I’ll be able to bring the mp3s in the bandography back online (they’ve been down for a while now) and, better yet, I’ll be adding new ones to expand that section. I have also, for a long time, wanted to add audio and video to the bassbook (which hasn’t been updated in years). So, with the added space, I should be able to provide even more content. And I’m looking forward to doing that.
I’ll try, of course, to make the switch transparent. But if something goes haywire, fear not. I’ll just be working out the kinks. And if there’s a gap in posting–which I hope will not be the case–it’ll just mean I’m under the hood, fixing things.
