Music software makers Propellerheads are no longer developing their ReBirth music software, but they’ve decided to release the final version for free through their new ReBirth Museum. Registration and email confirmation is required (my email confirmation seemed to fail but my login worked anyway). The download is an ISO of the actual install CD (Windows and OS X). Download times are really slow right now, so you might want to hit it late at night or something (mine stalled out).
Cool idea, though. Dontchathink? Instead of locking it away, they’re creating goodwill by giving away a decent piece of software, while they move on to focus on developing other cool things.
