All you Mac freaks already know that OS X Leopard is out today. I’ve been reading a lot of negative reviews of Windows Vista this past week. I didn’t really need much convincing that it’s to be avoided. When my XP laptop finally dies, it’s turning into an iMac. I’ve been saying this for a while now, and, if anything, I’m only more certain that Vista is a boondoggle.
Leopard has the Boot Camp functionality built in. So, for those times when I absolutely have to have XP, I can run it. That was really the only issue for me. I have a lot of audio production files still hanging out in Acid Pro that I might want to unearth at some point. All of my recent music-related software/hardware purchases (e.g. Ableton Live, and the TonePort UX2) support OS X and Windows. All my other stuff should port over easily.
Sometime in the new year, I’ll stop talking about this and actually do it. :)
