Back in Fayetteville, Arkansas, we’d sometimes get a ‘snow day’–a nice break from work or school to watch the snow fall and catch up on daytime TV. Here in the Carolinas, it never snows, but sometimes tropical storms and hurricanes grant us the day off. Gina and I call them “hurricane days,” regardless of the official status of the storm. It’s 2:00 PM here right now, which is high tide today and should mark the worst of tropical storm Ernesto. So far we’ve had steady rain but not much wind. So far it’s been a good deal lighter than we had expected.
Here’s a video clip from weather.com, if you’re curious (RealVideo format–sorry). Here’s their Ernesto tracker, which is pretty cool.
