I added one more film to my list this past weekend: Pale Rider (1985). I like Clint Eastwood’s westerns (espeically the more metaphysical ones), and this one had come highly recomended. Even though the symbolism is heavy handed, I enjoyed it–not as much as Unforgiven, but a bit more than The Outlaw Josey Wales. I believe those are the only three I’ve seen of the ones Eastwood himself has directed. Of the ones he has starred in, there’s still no beating Fistfull of Dollars.
I’ve also been checking out some new music lately. The coolest thing I’ve found recently is Greenland, who play instrumental music that is minimalist and moving. It’s sort of like trance but with typical rock instrumentation. There are three mp3s availible on their site that are worth a listen if you dig spooky post-rock.
