I keep forgetting to mention Thirteen Conversations about One Thing, a nice little movie about life and why we bother living it. It stars Alan Arkin, whom I’ve liked since I first saw him in Glengarry Glen Ross. I also have a soft spot for Ray Liotta, who has done some fine work and some not-so-fine work over the years. But things are getting better. Identity was solidly entertaining and Narc was a really solid film (as good as all the hype I’d heard about it). I Also caught About Schmidt, which was good but very slow going. I’m still not sure if the destination is worth the journey in that one.
