This is the best of those web-based, political belief sorters I’ve found: electoralcompass.com. It asks enough questions to get a decent answer, plots you and the candidates on a Cartesian plane, and has full explanations of where you and the candidate agree and differ (with sources to back it up). Hat tip: sotto.org.
This is not to be confused with the simplistic and heavily Libertarian-skewed politicalcompass.org.
