Today makes two years since my father, Jack Lawerence Martin (November 7, 1917 — July 29, 2003) died. I scanned a few photos and uploaded them to flickr. I have a few more to find and scan. He was an odd old bird, but I miss him.

The Kafkaesque becomes commonplace
Two news items of interest found their way onto my radar today: this report on the inquiry into Guantanamo Bay, and this circuit court ruling on the legality of military tribunals. I won’t sleep any better tonight because of these.
