Today makes two years since my father, Jack Lawerence Martin (November 7, 1917 — July 29, 2003) died. I scanned a few photos and uploaded them to flickr. I have a few more to find and scan. He was an odd old bird, but I miss him.

Josh told me I’d like The Life Aquatic, and I certainly did. Bill Murray keeps doing amazing stuff. Everyone in that film put in a great performance. To round out my Wes Anderson viewing, I’ve got Bottle Rocket on order.

The Kafkaesque becomes commonplace
Two news items of interest found their way onto my radar today: this report on the inquiry into Guantanamo Bay, and this circuit court ruling on the legality of military tribunals. I won’t sleep any better tonight because of these.
