Getting started with Open Source Software

If you are trying to ween yourself off of closed source software. Or, if you have made the switch to Linux and find yourself wondering what apps you’ll use to do the things you used to do with closed-source apps, this list might be helpful.

I’m buying a new laptop soon, and I’m probably going to run Linux on it (Red Hat, as that’s the one I have used the most). I may have to dual-boot it so I can still use a few closed-source apps that I need from time to time, but that’s it.
