I updated the cygwin install on my home machine, so I have tons of new linux command-line goodies to play with. I also noticed that the default X windows server is now rootless! So X apps pop up in their own windows w/o a container window. (The docs call this way of displaying “multiwindow”: “an integrated Windows-based window manager”).
I’m still trying to see if I like this or not, as I usually use Windowmaker (homepage | cygwin version).
