It’s nice when a film you don’t expect anything from turns out to be good. Such was the case with the last two that I watched, Abandon and 8 Mile. Abandon is the directorial debut of Stephen Gaghan, who made his name for writing the screenplay for one of my favorite films, Traffic. 8 Mile is, of course, the big screen debut for Eminem. But don’t let that stop you. It’s also a solid story, beautifully shot and directed.
